Macon Georgia Medical Cannabis Card

Macon is about an hour and a half from Atlanta on I-75 if traffic cooperates, and considerably longer if it does not. The southbound I-75 corridor through Henry County is one of the most congested stretches in the state, and the return trip in the afternoon regularly adds an hour.

For a Macon patient, that means an in-person appointment is a half-day commitment for a visit that lasts a fraction of that. The telehealth visit is conducted by video from home in Macon, Warner Robins, Byron, Perry or anywhere in central Georgia.

Atrium Health Navicent, formerly the Medical Center of Central Georgia, is the dominant system in Macon and the region's Level I trauma center. Its patient portal gives access to visit notes, imaging reports and laboratory results across the hospital and its affiliated practices. Coliseum Health System facilities in Macon provide portal access as well.

Patients in Warner Robins and Houston County often receive care at Houston Healthcare, which maintains its own records department and portal. Many central Georgia patients also travel to Atlanta for subspecialty care, which means diagnostic records may sit with an Emory, Piedmont or Northside clinician. Those can be requested from the treating physician if you cannot download them.

A Georgia driver's license or Georgia state ID for identification, and documentation of the qualifying diagnosis — the note from the clinician who diagnosed or treats the condition, plus the confirming test where one exists.

If the records are not in hand, you can ask Dr. Shri Parimi to request them from your treating physician, or bring what you have and discuss it at the visit. Proof of a qualifying diagnosis is required, and the certification decision is clinical.
